Paulo Thiago vs. David Mitchell officially added to UFC 134
by Hubert Lau on May 26, 2011

A previously rumored bout, welterweights Paulo Thiago and David Mitchell are now officially set to battle it out at UFC 134 according to mmaweekly.com.

Thiago holds a 13-3 record and began his career in the UFC with a stunning upset victory over top welterweight contender, Josh Koscheck. Thiago would go 2-1 in his next three fights, losing only to Jon Fitch. Thiago has been in a slump as of late, going on a two fight skid losing to Martin Kampmann and Diego Sanchez.

Mitchell, whose 11-1, lost in his UFC debut against Anthony Waldburger via unanimous decision. However Mitchell poses a serious ground game, holding nine submission wins of his 11 wins.

As both men have lost their previous fights, the loser of this match up might very well be cut by the UFC.

Other official bouts for UFC 134 on August 27th include the headliner between Anderson Silva vs. Yushin Okami, Ross Pearson vs. Edson Barboza, Luiz Cane vs. Stanislav Nedkov and Thiago Tavares vs. Spencer Fisher.

Jambi: a solid card for sure. Don't know why but i'm looking for one more big fight in the main card. The card somehow feels kinda incomplete. Great card nonetheless. snuff: I'm a big Thiago fan. Hopefully he takes. And hopefully he's worked on his cardio.
