Phil Baroni will move back up to the middleweight division for his upcoming fight, taking on John Salter at UFC 118.
Baroni confirmed the news to FiveKnuckles.com via e-mail early this morning, stating that he wants "to kick his ass."
"The New York Badass" (13-12 MMA) has been in and out of the UFC over his 10-year career, going 3-6 with the organization. His last fight took place at UFC 106 last November, where he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Amir Sadollah.
John Salter (6-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) will look to sway his Octagon record when he faces Baroni. Salter's last fight, which took place at UFC 113 in May, ended in controversy as his opponent, Jason MacDonald, suffered a leg injury mid-fight.
UFC 118 is set to take place in Boston, MA, on August 28. Other slated fights for the card include a rematch of Frankie Edgar vs. B.J. Penn, Randy Couture vs. James Toney, Kenny Florian vs. Gray Maynard, Nate Marquardt vs. Rousimar Palhares, and Marcus Davis vs. Nate Diaz.
