Phillipe Nover steps in to face Sam Stout at UFN 19
by Jacob Camargo on August 19, 2009

The Ultimate Fighter season 8 lightweight runner-up Phillipe Nover will step in on less then a month notice to replace the injured Kyle Bradley against Sam Stout on the UFC Fight Night 19 fight card.

News of Nover's insertion into the bout was first reported by MMA FanHouse. Kyle Bradley withdrew from the event due to an undisclosed injury suffered while training.

Nover is not off to a hot start with the UFC going 0-2 to start off his UFC career. His first loss came in his octagon debut against Efrain Escudero at TUF 8 finale last December and he was most recently defeated by the man he's replacing at UFN 19, Kyle Bradley at UFC 98 in May. Prior to the losses, he had won four straight, all wins coming with the Ring of Combat promotion. Four of his career wins have came via stoppage, including 3 by submission and 1 by KO.

Stout is coming off a win over Matt Wiman at UFC 97 in April. Prior to the win, he'd lost two straight against Rich Clementi and Terry Etim. Stout is now 3-4 in seven fights with the UFC, with a notable win over Spencer Fisher. The longtime TKO veteran has finished 8 of his 14 career wins by TKO or KO and he holds notable wins over the likes of Fabio Holanda and Yves Jabouin.

UFN 19 takes place on September 16 from the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City and the main card will be televised live on Spike TV. The event will be followed by the debut episode of The Ultimate Fighter 10: "Heavyweights". UFN 19 is headlined by a lightweight bout between TUF 5 winner Nate Diaz and fellow TUF alum Melvin Guillard.
