Rafael Assuncao vs. Yves Jabouin added to WEC 43

A featherweight bout between highly regarded featherweight contender Rafael Assuncao and WEC newcomer Yves Jabouin is set for the WEC 43 event.

Assuncao is currently in the midst of five-fight win streak, with his most recent win coming over Jameel Massouh in his WEC debut in April at WEC 40. The top-ten ranked featherweight sports a superb MMA record of 13-1, with 8 wins by submission and 2 by TKO. He suffered his lone career loss against WEC veteran Jeff Curran at a XFO event in November 2006, however, he holds notable wins over UFC veteran Joe Lauzon and Bellator veteran Jorge Masvidal.

Jabouin has won his last four bouts, with his most recent coming against J.T. Wells at XMMA 6: "House of Pain" back in November. Jabouin is 14-4 in his mixed martial arts career, with an impressive 11 wins coming by way of KO or TKO. The eight-year veteran of the sports has a faced of notable opponents such as UFC veteran Sam Stout, longtime TKO veteran Steve Claveau, and Bellator veteran Jonathan Brookins.

WEC 43, will be telecast live on Versus, September 2 in Youngstown, Ohio. The event will be headlined by a WEC lightweight interim title bout between Donald Cerrone and Benson Henderson.
