Light-heavyweight's Rafael Cavalcante and Aaron Rosa have verbally agreed to face each other at the Nov. 20 Strikeforce Challengers event from the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, KS. News of the bout was first reported by Fighters.com.

Due to Strikeforce's thin light-heavyweight division, the Cavalcante vs. Rosa bout could be for serious title implications, with the winner possibly getting a future shot at Strikeforce light-heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi.

Cavalcante (7-2) suffered just his second career loss in his last bout as he was upset by Team Quest's Mike Kyle at Strikeforce: "Lawler vs. Shields" in June. Prior to the loss, he went a perfect 3-0 under the now-defunct EliteXC promotion, scoring wins over John Doyle, Wayne Cole and Travis Galbraith.

The Team Nogueira fighter, Cavalcante, has finished all of his seven career wins, including 6 by TKO or KO. He holds a notable win in his career over Devin Cole and suffered his only other career loss via disqualification against Marcio Cruz in June 2007.

Rosa (12-2) is currently on a two-fight winning streak, with his most recent win coming against Anthony Ruiz in his Strikeforce debut at Strikeforce Challengers Series 1 in May.

Rosa previously went 1-2 in ShoXC: Elite Challenger Series events from July 2007 to March 2008, losing back-to-back fights against Jared Hamman and Jaime Fletcher, while picking up his lone win over that span against Jefferson Silva. The longtime Renegades Extreme Fighting veteran has scored stoppage victories in eight of his twelve career wins.

The Strikeforce Challenger Series 5 event is the third card for Strikeforce in November. Strikeforce opens up the month with a Strikeforce Challengers event on Nov. 6 and just a day later, the highly anticipated CBS televised Strikeforce: "Fedor vs. Rogers" event takes place.
