Rampage Jackson on fighting Rashad Evans: "I’m gonna try to knock his head off."
by Giada Esposito on February 04, 2010

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson shocked the MMA world when he suddenly announced his retirement last year to pursue a career in acting

Jackson served as a coach opposite personal rival Rashad Evans on The Ultimate Fighter 10, and the bad blood between the two men fueled expectations of a dramatic showdown at seasons' end. Those expectations were promptly dashed however, after Jackson, upset with the UFC's less than supportive stance toward his movie career, decided to retire.

Fortunately for fans, Jackson's retirement proved short-lived. After filming of his latest movie, "The A-Team," came to a close, the former UFC light-heavyweight champion announced that he would be returning to the UFC to face Evans and settle their long-held beef.

Jackson has recently been helping his friend and training partner Michael Bisping prepare at the Wolfslair MMA Academy in the UK, for a fight with Wanderlei Silva at UFC 110 later this month.

Speaking to MMABay in a video interview, Jackson spoke about Bisping's preparations, and his own return to training to face Evans in a fight expected to take place at UFC 114 on May 29.

"I think Michael Bisping has a great chance," Jackson stated when asked about Bisping's prospects against Silva. "All he has to do is stick to his game plan. I think a focused Michael Bisping is a tough opponent for anyone. Anyone. Hell, he kicks my ass in training."

Jackson characteristically joked around when asked of his announcement to return to the UFC, blaming his "evil clone" for various clone for various out-of-cage incidents.

"Did I announced that?" Jackson joked when asked about his decision to come back to the UFC. "Cause I feel like Arnold Schwarzenegger that one time in that movie that somebody cloned me, and I've got this clone going around out there doing stuff that I would never do. My clone gets in trouble, it ain't me, it's my clone! He keeps messing up everywhere. He always on TMZ or something, and I'll be at home like, that's not me, it's my evil clone! If you see him, tell him to call me. He looks just like me, he walks like me, but his breath smells better than mine (laughs)."

All joking aside however, it appears clear that despite Jackson's return to action, there are some deep-seated differences between he and the UFC that may never be fully resolved.

"I'm telling you what, I'm kind of anti-UFC a little bit," Jackson continued. "So, I hope the fans understand where I'm coming from. I've bent over backwards for people. I think I'm one of the most loyal people ever. I'm a werewolf. Werewolves, we're like dogs. We're on top. We're loyal, you know what I'm saying? But when people don't be loyal to me, that's when I break down. I'm over it. Fans, you know what I'm saying? I love my fans. They can take it or leave it, but I'm anti-UFC. The UFC is a good organization, and I can't hate on them. They've done great things for the sport. The fans don't really understand. The fans are fans of MMA. I'm not a fan of MMA. I am MMA. I'm a fighter. I just live my life. It's my job. And what's wrong with me for wanting to be successful at my job and get promotions and move on to other careers? People hate on me because I want to do a movie. I've always been a big fan of "The A-team."...
