The verbal jabs continue as Rashad Evans and Tito Ortiz prepare for their rematch at UFC 133.
"I'm going to be honest, I don't think Tito Ortiz is on that level. I don't think Tito Ortiz got what it takes to get it done," Evans said.
Evans (15-1-1) is going into the fight as a heavy favorite and the chance to contest for the UFC's light heavyweight championship if he defeats Ortiz. Evans is riding a two fight win streak, defeating Thiago Silva and Quinton Jackson in his last outings. But Evans is over a year removed from competition. Whether or not the long layoff will factor into the fight remains to be seen.
Ortiz (16-8-1) is coming off one of the biggest victories in his career, defeating Ryan Bader at UFC 132 within the opening round via submission. After five years with no wins, Ortiz sees his career rejuvenated with his stunning upset over the light heavyweight prospect. With a win over Evans, it would prove once again that "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" is here to stay.
Ortiz and Evans first fought to a draw at UFC 73.
UFC 133 is held on August 6 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Wells Fargo Center.
