Rashad Evans to fight Phil Davis at UFC on Fox 2
by Hubert Lau on December 01, 2011

Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Rashad Evans, is set to battle rising contender, Phil Davis, at UFC on Fox 2 according to mmaweekly.com.

Evans (16-1-1) is coming off of a second round TKO win over Tito Ortiz at UFC 133. It was in that event where Evans was originally scheduled to face Davis but a knee injury to Davis scrapped the bout which prompted the Ortiz replacement.

Davis (9-0) last defeated Antônio Rogério Nogueira via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night: Nogueira vs. Davis. Davis will be facing his toughest test to date in Evans but a victory would earn "Mr. Wonderful" the coveted number one contender slot.

UFC on Fox 2 is scheduled for January 28, 2012 at the United Center in Chicago.
