Rashad Evans vs. Rampage "probably in March" with UFC 108 win
by Natalia Baage on January 02, 2010

The hate-fueled fight between Rashad Evans and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson is on the horizon - just one fight away.

"Rashad would have to win this fight to fight Rampage," White told MMAjunkie.com. "And if he does win this fight, they will fight - probably in March."

The original bout was supposed to take place as a culmination of The Ultimate Fighter 10, where Evans and Rampage served as opposing and trash-talking coaches (who can forget the "Treat me like a bitch, then" argument?). Their fight was initially set for UFC 107, which took place on Dec. 12, 2009.

However, Rampage took the role of B.A. Baracus in "The A-Team" remake (due out in June 2010), and later retired from fighting. His retirement came as a shock to most, and many believed that he would return. Last month, they were proven correct, as Rampage said that he would return to finish out his contract with the UFC.

"We're still pissed at each other," said White. "We are. When something this big happens, you don't just go, 'Ah, never mind. Forget it.'  It doesn't work that way."

The only March date in the books for the UFC is March 27, where UFC 111 will take place in New Jersey. But before Evans can think ahead to that date, he is thinking about his fight tonight against the man that stands between him and Rampage: Thiago Silva.

"When I took the fight with Thiago, Rampage wasn't even on the horizon," said Evans. "It was very uncertain whether he was going to come back or not. I took this fight just with the intentions of fighting Thiago."

Evans has spoken at length about his concentration and focus on his fight against Silva. White has not made any statements regarding the possibility of an Evans vs. Rampage fight if Evans loses against Silva tonight.

"As far as Dana saying that, and it being possible for me to fight [Rampage] if I win this fight, it doesn't change anything or add extra motivation," Evans said. "I'm going to go in there and fight this fight the way I was going to fight it before he said those words."
