Rashad to Rampage: "We made them all believe we hated each other. Best fake fight in history."
by Natalia Baage on May 30, 2010

A recent Twitter post from Rashad Evans may have given away an inside secret about his feud with Quinton Jackson.

Moments ago, Evans mistakenly Tweeted the following message. As it shows, it was supposed to have been a direct message (i.e. personal message) to Rampage.

"directmessage rampage4real lol, i think we made them all believe we hated each other. best fake fight in history. we made our money tho"

Within 20 minutes of the posting, the message was deleted by Evans.

Shortly after, Evans' Twitter account posted another message, negating the eye-opening tweet.

"Attn: rashad's twitter was hacked today. We have since updated the password and home that the tweets have not affected ne1 negatively!"

Did Evans mess up and let the MMA world in on his "feud" with Rampage? Or is the feud real and did his account really get hacked?

The long-standing feud between the fighters began at UFC 96 last March, and was apparent all throughout their coaching of The Ultimate Fighter season 10. The two almost came to blows several times during filming, and their relationship has been called one of the most heated rivalries in the sport's history. Their fight at last night's UFC 114 had Evans walk away with a unanimous decision win.

Was their feud a fake? Only the two fighters will have the answer, but it seems that Evans slipped up and spilled the secret.

 |  (16) Comments momentous: i love how twitter accounts that accidentally post the wrong info get dubbed as "hacked". hilarious HackBennys: I was pretty sure it was a fake feud all along. thug4less: Pfft. The feud might be fake or it might not, but Rashad is not stupid enough to throw it on twitter when an email works just as well that's not public. Hell, he could have said it to him backstage or something. Why would he throw it on Twitter? That just seems to me that somebody who was cheesed off at the way the fight went, did hack the account and posted that. Anthony: After hearing what Rampage said right after the fight, I'm not so sure (frankly, I was half expecting something akin to a Paul Daley reaction from him). Rob: This is big news. Personally, I believe their "feud" was real. This "tweet" just seems too fishy for it to be real, I actually really do think his account was hacked. There are too many fishy circumstances. This isn't something that you would tweet. This is something you would call the other guy about and talk on the phone. It's not like anyone would have found out if they had talked to each other on the phone. Also, you have all these details conveniently laid out in a short tweet that conveniently got "mistakenly" sent out in public instead. See what I mean about fishy? Looking at it from another aspect, this is really bad. Not often are points brought up about "fixing" fights in the UFC, because it's almost taboo. In any sport. The tweet talks about not only the fighters' hate for each other being fake, but also about actually getting paid for acting like they hated each other. I am sure Dana is not pleased at all about these news, whether the hate was real or not. This is not something that should be associated with the sport. It hurts it more than what Daley did. It makes you think about what else is fake. Anthony: But there's nothing fake about the grudge match that headlines UFC 117. momentous: i disagree completely Rob. i could care less if they:o hate each other or not. sure its a gimmick and could be fake. i'm not interested in the soap opera of mma. IF they fixed the fight for rashad to win... i'd be all done with MMA b/c i might as well go watch WWE which i fuckin hate. they can hype any which way they want in my opinion. the minute they fix a fight... im done. Little_Kang: I never try to pay attention the hype of fights. Because really this fight wasn't that great AT ALL. A total of maybe a 1 minute of excitment between Rampage getting hit and rashad getting rocked. The rest wasn't good at all
