by Paulo Silva on July 23, 2008

The MMA world is still buzzing over the return of the king this Saturday, as Fedor Emelianenko made quick work of former UFC champion Tim Sylvia, his first highly ranked opponent in a year and a half.

Emelianenko now appears ready to make up for lost time, announcing to the French website FightSport.fr that he will face Andrei Arlovski, an opponent for DREAM's NYE show, and then Josh Barnett in succession.

"I want to make up for lost time and fight more this year," said Fedor. "The next Affliction event is planned for November, but we're trying to get it pushed back to October so that I can prepare properly for my fight with DREAM in December."

Emelianenko went on to reveal two of his next three opponents.

"Andrei Arlovski (is next). I do not know the name of my opponent at Dream but then I intend to face Josh Barnett in March in the USA."

Ad in the looming match up with Randy Couture and it would appear that Emelianenko will have no shortage of exciting opponents to face off against for the foreseeable future, which is great news fans of the sport.
