Hopefully the opponent shuffling is over.
UFC newcomer Reuben Duran (7-2-1) has agreed to step in on short notice and take on Takeya Mizugaki (13-5-2) at UFC on Versus 3, according to MMAJunkie.com.
Mizugaki was originally slated to take on Francisco Rivera, but he was forced off of the card due to an injury. Mizugaki ended his WEC career with a 2-3 record and a loss to Urijah Faber. The Japanese import hopes to improve his fortunes now that he has made it into the UFC.
Duran comes into the fight on a four fight win streak. The Pinnacle Jiu Jitsu & MMA student has displayed a well rounded skill set as he has stopped multiple opponents by both submission and knock out.
Duran reportedly signed a five fight contract with the UFC.
UFC on Versus 3 takes place on March 3rd at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky. The event is headlined by a welterweight showdown between Diego Sanchez and Martin Kampmann.
