Ricardo Arona set to return against Marvin Eastman

PRIDE veteran Ricardo Arona is set to fight for the first time in almost two-and-a-half years when he takes on UFC veteran Marvin Eastman on September 12 at Bitetti Combat in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. News of the bout comes via a report from SuperLutas.com.

Other MMA notables slated to be compete on the card include WEC veteran Glover Teixeira as well as Shooto veteran Luciano Azevedo and Brazilian Top Team fighter Milton Vieira.

Prior to his hiatus from MMA, Arona was 1-3 in 4 previous fights and hadn't fought since being knocked out by Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou.html">Sokoudjou at PRIDE 34 in April of 2007. The Brazilian Top Team product also dropped losses to Wanderlei Silva and Mauricio Rua during that stretch while earning a knockout over current Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem at PRIDE: "Final Conflict Absolute."

The multiple-time ADCC Submissions wrestling champion, Arona, sports a 13-5 overall MMA record. He holds notable wins over the likes of Jeremy Horn, Guy Mezger, Dan Henderson, Murilo Rua, Dean Lister, Kazushi Sakuraba and Wanderlei Silva.

Marvin Eastman snapped a two-fight losing streak in his last fight with a win over Aron Lofton at MFC 21 in May. Eastman is a nine-year veteran of the sport with notable wins over Vernon White, Quinton Jackson, Jason MacDonald, Terry Martin.
