Ricardo Romero vs. James Te Huna set for UFC 135
by Hubert Lau on July 18, 2011

A light heavyweight bout between Ricardo Romero and James Te Huna is booked for UFC 135 according to bloodyelbow.com.

Romero (11-2) suffered a defeat in his last fight to Kyle Kingsbury via TKO in the first round at UFC 126. Prior to the loss, Romero was on a six fight win streak which also included a victory over Seth Petruzelli in his UFC debut. Romero primarily fought for the Ring of Combat promotion before his current run with the UFC.

Te Huna (12-5) most recently fell to Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 127, the New Zealander was submitted via rear naked choke in the opening round. Te Huna has fought MMA notables in James Lee and Hector Lombard.

Both men are currently 1-1 in the UFC, looking to rebound off their recent loss. As light heavyweight prospects, another defeat could send the loser looking for a job elsewhere.

UFC 135 on September 25 at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado is headlined by a UFC light heavyweight title bout. Jon Jones looks to defend his title for the first time against Quinton Jackson. Also scheduled on the main card is former UFC welterweight champion, Matt Hughes, fighting Diego Sanchez.
