UFC welterweight, Rick Story, calls for a fight with Dong Hyun Kim according to bloodyelbow.com.
"I think it will solidify that the last fight was kind of a fluke, and it would rebuild some of that lost momentum....I'd like to do it at UFC 139 on Nov. 19," Story said.
Story was the victim of an upset when he loss to late replacement Charlie Brenneman at UFC on Versus 4. Story was originally working his way towards title contention, riding a six fight win streak and methodically defeating the who's who of the welterweight division. When Nate Marquardt pulled out of the bout due to the now infamous TRT controversy that also got him ousted of the UFC, Brenneman stepped up to face Story and won via unanimous decision.
Now looking to climb his way back to the top of the heap, Story sets his sights on Kim. Kim was also establishing himself within the UFC's welterweights with his undefeated record of 14-0-1, until he faced Carlos Condit at UFC 132. Kim was on the receiving end of a flying knee that knocked him out cold within the opening round.
It is unclear if this match up would materialize. Kim is currently recovering from a broken orbital bone suffered from the bout with Condit and could be sidelined until December at the latest. Styles-wise it should make for an interesting fight. Both men are well versed in the ground game; Story has his base in collegiate wrestling while Kim is a black belt judo practitioner.
