Rodney Wallace vs. Jared Hamman slated for UFC 111
by Jacob Camargo on January 11, 2010

A light-heavyweight bout between UFC sophomores Rodney Wallace and Jared Hamman is in the works for UFC 111 on March 27 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. News of the bout was first reported by MMAForReal.com.

Both men are coming off of losses in their UFC debuts and are in a must win situation in order to keep their jobs with the UFC.

Wallace most recently suffered his first career loss in his last fight against Brian Stann at TUF 10 finale in December. Prior to entering the UFC, he won an eight-man tournament at September's Vendetta Fighting Championship: "A Night of Vengeance" in Aruba, defeating Gregory Milliard, Aaron Stark and Antwain Britt in the same night.

The Revolution Fight Club and Vengeance Fighting Championship veteran has put together a nearly flawless 9-1 MMA record since turning pro in April 2008.

Hamman (10-2) is 1-2 in his last three bouts, most recently suffering a 41-second knockout loss to Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 105 in November. Prior to joining the UFC, he competed for other notable promotions such as the IFC, Strikeforce and EliteXC. Hamman has finished all of his 10 career wins including eight by TKO or KO and holds notable wins during his three-year career over the likes of Ray Lizama, Aaron Rosa and Travis Wiuff.

UFC 111 features a championship double-header, including a headlining UFC welterweight title bout between champion Georges St. Pierre and challenger Dan Hardy. In addition, Frank Mir and Shane Carwin will battle it out for the interim heavyweight title.
