Strikeforce middleweight champion, Ronaldo Souza, is scheduled to defend his title against Luke Rockhold at a September 10 Strikeforce event according to mmajunkie.com.

Souza holds a 14-2 MMA record, trains out of Black House  and is renowned for his ground skills, winning numerous titles in international grappling competitions and 11 of his victories are submissions. After Jake Shields vacated the Strikeforce middleweight title, Souza captured it after he defeated Tim Kennedy and then defended it by submitting Robbie Lawler. Souza is currently riding a four fight win streak going into his fight with Rockhold.

Rockhold is 7-1, training out of the American Kickboxing academy. He won last six fights, defeating TUF veterans Paul Bradley and Jesse Taylor in his last two fights.

Another bout on the currently unnamed September Strikeforce event is Maximo Blanco making his Strikeforce debut against former Strikeforce lightweight champion, Josh Thomson.

Maximo Blanco is another potential star to watch. His JMMA fights have been full of action, and he is an explosive dude. Glad they gave him stiff competition right out of the gate in SF!!!
