Ronnys Torres to make UFC debut against Jeremy Stephens at UFN 19

UFC newcomer Ronnys Torres will make his long-awaited promotional debut against hard-hitting lightweight Jeremy Stephens at UFC Fight Night 19. Sources close to MMAjunkie.com were the first to report the bout which was later confirmed by FiveKnuckles.com through sources close to Stephens.

Torres was originally slated to debut against Melvin Guillard at Ultimate Fight Night 18 in April, however, he was forced off the card due to a knee injury.

Jungle Fight and Shooto veteran, Torres, enters the UFC on an eight-fight win streak with his most recent win coming against Eliene Silva at Jungle Fight 11 in September 2008. The Nova Uniao product sports an impressive 14-1 record, with his lone loss coming to Rodrigo Ruiz in September of 2007. Twelve of Torres' fourteen career wins have been by stoppages. He also holds a notable win over Chute Boxe's Luiz Azeredo at Jungle Fight 10.

Stephens has lost his last two bouts against Joe Lauzon and Gleison Tibau respectively. Prior to the losses however, he was 3-1 in four previous fights with the UFC with wins over Cole Miller, Diego Saraiva and a win over Rafael dos Anjos which earned him "Knockout of the Night." Overall Stephens has put together a 15-5 MMA record, with an astounding 11 wins coming via TKO.

The Spike TV televised event, UFN 19, is scheduled to take place on September 16 from the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The event will also feature a lightweight bout between former UFC lightweight contender Roger "El Matador" Huerta and undefeated rising contender Gray "The Bully" Maynard.
