The statistics of last night's TUF 10 fight were calculated, and Roy Nelson came out the better fighter. This morning, CompuStike released the figures about the fighters' striking.
In the most highly-anticipated TUF 10 match up, between Nelson and Kimbo Slice, Nelson used his nearly 30-pound weight advantage to control Slice when they were on the ground.
Overall, Nelson landed 78 of his 107 strikes (73%), while Slice landed 13 of his 37 (35%).
Nelson landed the majority of his punches while in the dominant position on top of Slice. While they were not heavy strikes, Nelson landed 67 of 70 ground strikes, which equals to 96%. The first round saw Nelson land 47 of 48, and 20 of 22 in the second round.
Slice, on the other hand, threw strikes from his feet, landing 11 of 35 punches. While Slice appeared to rock Nelson in the second round - even Coach Rashad admitted that that was the case - Nelson used his experience to get out a potentially dangerous situation by taking the fight to the ground.
Over the course of the fight, each fighter threw two leg kicks apiece, Slice landing both, and Nelson landing one.
Nelson won the bout by second round TKO.
