"Already everybody's worried about him. Roger [Gracie] is coming, slowly, but everyone is watching him. He is coming quietly, starting from the bottom, he is not saying "I'm Gracie, it gives me the right to dispute for the title" ... No, he is starting from the bottom." - Royce Gracie via Sportv
UFC Hall-of-Famer Royce Gracie talks about his cousin Roger Gracie joining the UFC's middleweight division.
Roger Gracie is a second degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu who made his much anticipated mixed martial arts debut in 2006 against Ron Waterman, winning via armbar in the first round.
The Brazilian jiu-jitsu guru went on to win his next three bouts before suffering his first MMA defeat at the hands of Muhammed Lawal at Strikeforce: Barnett vs. Kharitonov via first round knockout.
Gracie dropped down to the middleweight division following the disappointing loss, and has accumulated back-to-back submission victories over Keith Jardine and Anthony Smith which punched his ticket to the UFC.
Roger Gracie will become the fourth member of the renown Gracie family to compete under the UFC banner.
