Ryan Bader: "This is one of those fights that's going to let everyone know I'm legit."
by Giada Esposito on February 17, 2010

Ryan Bader has yet to lose a fight in his MMA career, and the former two-time All-American wrestler plans to keep it that way when he faces Keith Jardine this weekend at UFC 110.

Bader emerged victorious in the light-heavyweight division on season 8 of "The Ultimate Fighter", earning a first-round TKO over Vinicius Magalhaes in the season finale. Bader's dominant performance left many considering him one of the brightest young prospects in the division, and he followed it up with consecutive wins to begin his UFC career at 3-0.

Bader will face a step up in competition when he enters the Octagon with Jardine in Sydney, and he's determined to make the most of that opportunity against an always hungry and aggressive Keith Jardine.

"Last couple of fights, I've been fighting black belts and I kinda have more of a strict game-plan," said Bader. "I don't have to worry about taking it to the ground. I don't have to worry about keeping it standing on my feet. I kinda just go in there.... basically just fight. My goal is to go out there and dominate. He's fought like that every fight he's been in. He's just happened to get knocked out a couple times, but he's always been hungry. I think he's going to fight the same he's fought in every other fight. I'm going to do the same also. I'm not worried about what he's going to do, I'm worried about what I'm going to do."

At 15-6-1, Jardine has routinely battled with upper echelon light-heavyweight's in recent years - men like Rampage Jackson, Wanderlei Silva, Chuck Liddell, Forrest Griffin, and Thiago Silva. Bader believes he has more than his perfect 10-0 career record on the line when he faces Jardine. This is a fight he must win if he wants to prove he's ready to compete with the top light-heavyweight fighters in the UFC.

"This is definitely one of those fights that's going to let everyone know I'm legit," Bader stated. "I belong with those upper-echelon fighters in the 205 pound division. It's an honor for me and definitely my toughest fight. I'm just looking forward to the test and looking forward to fighting a guy like Keith Jardine."
