Ryan Bader to undergo surgery
by Natalia Baage on April 05, 2010

Sometimes injuries take a long time to surface. This is the case for Ryan Bader, who, today, found out that he needs surgery for an injury that he sustained a month and a half ago.

"Found out today I have to have surgery on my right knuckle to repair a torn tendon that split in half from Jardine fight this thur," Bader wrote on his Twitter page moments ago.

Bader, The Ultimate Fighter 8 winner, (11-0) defeated Keith Jardine (15-7-1) at UFC 110, which took place on Feb. 21 in Australia. While the injury took nearly two months to be diagnosed, there is no word yet of how long Bader will be sidelined.

Scott Asnault: Funny you mention a month or 2 for an injury to surface. I was at Strikeforce Challengers 6 in San Jose, CA and ran into Josh Thomson at the event. He is having problems with one of his hands and is not sure when he will be back in action. I believe he mentioned that he might need surgery, but don't quote me on that. Not sure if memory of the conversation is clear on the fact of surgery mentioned by Thomson. The Hitman: Hoping for a speedy recovery. I want to see more of Bader.
