Ryan Bader vs. Keith Jardine expected for UFC 110
by Jacob Camargo on December 02, 2009

TUF 8 light-heavyweight winner Ryan Bader will be taking a big step up in competition when he takes on hard-nosed veteran Keith Jardine on the televised portion of the UFC 110 event in February. News of the bout was first reported by MMAWeekly.com.

Both men also dropped hints today about the match up on their official Twitter accounts.

"I finally got a fight," Jardine exclaimed. "Thank you Joe Silva. I'm not saying who yet... ;-)>

Bader followed that post with the following post of his own:

"I signed a bout agreement today. Let u know soon, definitely a step up in competition!"

Bader, who is a two-time Division 1 All-American from Arizona State, is coming off a dominant unanimous decision win over Eric Schafer at UFC 104 in October. The win moved him to 3-0 in the UFC, with previous Octagon wins coming over Carmelo Marrero at UFN 18 and Vinny Magalhaes to win the TUF 8 light-heavyweight tournament in his official UFC debut at The Ultimate Fighter 8 Finale last December.

The King of the Cage and Worldwide Fighting Championship veteran has put together an undefeated 10-0 MMA record since turning pro in March 2007. He has finished seven of his 10 career wins and currently hones his skills at Arizona Combat Sports in Tempe, AZ.

Jardine was originally rumored to appear opposite former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin at UFC 110, however, those plans were scrapped after Franklin recently revealed that he will take an indefinite period of time off.

Jardine (15-6-1) is currently 1-3 in his last four bouts, suffering back-to-back losses against Quinton Jackson at UFC 96 and most recently Thiago Silva at UFC 102 in August. His lone victory over that span came against Brandon Vera at UFC 89 in October 2008.

The Jackson's Submission Fighting product has been up and down during his four-year UFC career, putting together a 6-5 record with the promotion while notching big Octagon wins over Mike Whitehead, Wilson Gouveia, Forrest Griffin and Chuck Liddell.

Though officially unannounced, UFC 110 is expected for February 21 at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia, and will be headlined by a middleweight bout between Wanderlei Silva and Michael Bisping.
