UFC.com has confirmed that the middleweight bout between Ryan Jensen and Steve Steinbeiss scheduled for UFC Fight Night 18: “Condit vs Kampmann” on April 1 from the Nashville, Tennessee, has been canceled after Jensen failed to obtain the proper medical clearance to fight.
Steinbeiss and Jensen were originally prevented from weighing in due to what was first described as an “administrative issue.” The pair eventually weighed in at 186 lbs. after the formal procedures were finished.
However, Jensen disclosed to the Tennesse Athletic Commission that he had taken the drug Adderall (used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Narcolespy), thus prompting his fight with Steinbeiss to be scrapped.
It's interesting to note that a similar incident happened to fellow UFC middleweight Tim Credeur at TUF 7 finale as he admitted to using the same drug, Adderall, and the Nevada State Athletic Commission scrapped his scheduled bout against Cale Yarbrough. Credeur was not fined or suspended for his infraction.
