World Victory Road today recently added three more bouts to it's Sengoku 10th battle event, which include former EliteXC heavyweight champ Antonio Silva taking on Jim York, not undefeated super-heavyweight prospect Ron Sparks as previously rumored.
Other additions to the event include former Olympic judo silver medalist Hiroshi Izumi making his MMA debut against another newcomer, Antz Nansen and Pride veteran Makoto Takimoto taking on Jae Sun Lee.
Sengoku 10 takes place on September 23 from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, and airs on HDNet in North America.
Silva (12-1) is currently on a five fight win streak, with his most recent win coming in his promotional debut against Yoshihiro Nakao at Sengoku No Ran 2009 in January. Prior to the win, he went a perfect 4-0 with the now-defunct EliteXC promotion. 10 of his 12 career wins have came via TKO or KO. York (11-2) is coming off a first-round knockout win over James Thompson at Sengoku 7 in March and is now 11-1 in his last 12 bouts. His lone loss during the stretch came against Yoshihiro Nakao at Sengoku Second Battle in 2008. All of his 11 career wins have came via stoppage.
Izumi (0-0) will be making his long awaited MMA debut at the event. He is a highly decorated Judoka with an Olympic silver medal in judo at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games and gold medals at the 2005 World Judo Championship Games and the 2008 Asian Championships. Nansen (0-0) will also be making his MMA debut as he enters the octagon with relevant kickingboxing accolades. He has won several kickboxing titles, including WKBF cruiserweight and heavyweight.
Takimoto (5-5) is coming off a first-round submission win over Michael Costa at Sengoku 8 in March. Prior to the win, the 2000 Olympic judo gold medalist suffered back to back losses against Evangelista Santos and Frank Trigg. Lee (5-4) hasn't fought since April 2008, where he was defeated by Jung Hwan Cha at Spirit MC 16: "Clash of Pride." He has fought all but one of his 9 career fights with the Spirit MC promotion and he has finished 3 of his 5 career wins.
