Shine Fights' second event, Shine 2: "American Top Team vs. The World," is officially in the books and UFC veterans Yves Edwards and Roan Carneiro were among the big winners of the night. The event took place on September 4, from the James L. Knight Center in Miami, Florida and aired live via online pay-per-view.

The theme of the Shine 2: "American Top Team vs. The World" event consisted of members competing out of the well known Florida-based camp taking on fighters from around the world. The camp had a successful night by going 4-0, winning all four of the fights they were involved in.

In the main event, 5-time UFC veteran and American Top Team fighter Roan Carneiro scored a dominant unanimous decision win over Chute Boxe's Jorge Patino in his first fight in nearly a year. The win snapped a two-fight losing streak for Carneiro, who was released from the UFC shortly after his last loss against Ryo Chonan at last September's UFC 88.

In the co-main event, well-traveled veteran Yves Edwards, who is also apart of American Top Team, also snapped a two-fight losing streak as he defeated James Warfield. Edwards previously competed at Strikeforce: "Destruction" last November, where he was defeated by Duane Ludwig.

American Top Team's two additional wins came from longtime PRIDE fighter Luiz Firmino, as he scored a victory over Ryan Healy; and from WEC veteran Micah Miller, who defeated Anthony Morrison via second-round submission.

Also in action, Rio Heroes and M-1 veteran Flavio Alvaro defeated Chute Boxe's Jean Silva, former Green Bay Packers running-back. Herbert Goodman notched a win over Bellator veteran James Brasco. In addition, Brian Fuery made a successful pro debut by defeating Phil Friedman and UFC veteran Junior Assuncao picked up a win against Pete Grimes.

Also of note, Shine Fights' promoter Dorian Price announced during the online PPV broadcast that former WBA/WBC welterweight champion Ricardo Mayorga will make his MMA debut at the next event for the Ohio-based Shine Fights promotion.
