The UFC is back to airing its preliminary fights on Spike TV this weekend. UFC 108, which will take place this Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, will air live on the Spike network at 9 p.m.
The one-hour broadcast will feature two fights. Welterweight Martin Kampmann (15-3) will face Jacob Volkmann (9-1), while lightweights Cole Miller (15-4) and Dan Lauzon (12-2) face off. However, more fights may be shown if time permits.
This will be the fourth time that the UFC has aired a one-hour broadcast of the event's preliminary fights on Spike TV before the main event card airs on pay-per-view. UFC 103 and UFC 104 each earned 2.4 million viewers, while UFC 106 earned 1.3 million. The two events that did not have their own one-hour preliminary broadcasts were UFC 105 and UFC 107. This is because UFC 105 took place in the U.K. and shown in its entirety on Spike TV, and the prelims of UFC 107 were preempted by the Spike TV Video Game Awards, which had claimed the network's time slot.
The main card of UFC 108, which will be available live on pay-per-view this Saturday, consists of:
Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva
Paul Daley vs. Dustin Hazelett
Joe Lauzon vs. Sam Stout
Duane Ludwig vs. Jim Miller
Junior dos Santos vs. Gilbert Yvel
