Steve Steinbeiss vs. Ryan Jensen slated for UFN 19
by Jacob Camargo on July 08, 2009

Middleweights Steve Steinbeiss and Ryan Jensen will apperently meet at UFC fight Night 19 in a do-over from their canceled first bout in April.

Steinbeiss and Jensen were originally slated to meet at UFN 18 in April, however, the bout was scrapped on the day of weigh-ins due to Jensen's use of the stimulant, Adderall, which is not allowed under standard athletic commission rules.

Steinbeiss is coming off a loss against Carmelo Marrero at WEC 36 last November. And shortly after the loss Steinbeiss' contract was picked up by the UFC after the WEC dissolved its middleweight and light-heavyweight division. Prior to WEC 36, the Arizona Combat Sports trained fighter, Steinbeiss, had put together a three-fight win streak. The Bodog Fight veteran currently sports a 4-2 MMA record, with all of his wins coming via stoppage.

Jensen hasn't fought since losing to Wilson Gouveia at UFN 15 last September. Prior to UFN 15, Jensen went 2-1 in three fights outside the UFC. He has yet to win inside the octagon, with two losses to both Thales Leites and Demian Maia respectively. Jensen sports an overall MMA record of 13-5, with 5 wins by TKO and 8 by submission.

UFN 19 takes place on September 16 at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, OK. The event will feature two explosive lightweight bouts in Nate Diaz vs. Melvin Guillard and Roger Huerta vs. Gray Maynard.
