Strikeforce Challengers 8: "Lindland vs. Casey" is officially set to go down as all 20 fighters competing on tonight's event successfully made weight without incident yesterday at the Rose Quarter in Portland, Oregon.
Strikeforce Challengers 8 take places later tonight, on May 21, at the Rose Garden in Portland, and the event's main card is set to be televised on Showtime beginning at 11 p.m. EST/PST.
Headlining the event is a middleweight bout between veteran Matt Lindland, who is a Olympic silver medalist in Greco-Roman wrestling, and rising upstart Kevin Casey. Lindland weighed in at 186-pounds and Casey tipped the scales at 184.5-pounds.
In the co-main event, highly touted welterweight prospect Tyron Woodley will look to keep his unbeaten MMA record intact when he faces SportFight champion Nathan Coy. Woodley weighed in right at 170-pounds and Coy was a pound heavier at 171-pounds.
Other bouts on the main card include a welterweight bout between undefeated prospect Roger Bowling and Bobby Voelker. Also, Team Quest's Tarec Saffiedine will face Nate Moore in another featured welterweight bout and well-traveled lightweight Pat Healy will make his Strikeforce debut against up-and-comer Bryan Travers.
