Veteran welterweight Dennis Hallman will make his long awaited return to the UFC after signing a four-fight contract with MMA's premier organization, and will likely debut in November according to MMAWeekly.com.
Hallman is best known to fans for his two submission wins over former UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes, both of which lasted a combined 37-seconds.
Hallman had put together a dismal 1-3 record in previous stints with the UFC, with his lone victory coming against Hughes at UFC 29 in December 2000. He suffered losses to Jorge Rivera, Jens Pulver and Frank Trigg in his other appearances in the octagon.
He is currently on a five-fight win streak, with his most recent victory coming against Justin Davis at June's Strikeforce Challengers event. Overall, the 12-year veteran of the sport holds a career record of 41-12-2, with an amazing 32 of those wins coming by submission. During his long career he has fought for numerous promotions such as Strikeforce, IFL, SportFight, King of the Cage, Rumble on the Rock, Shooto and Extreme Challenge.
