TJ Grant steps up to fight Dong Hyun Kim at UFC 100
by Jacob Camargo on June 16, 2009

Just yesterday TJ Grant's bout with Rory Markham on the TUF 9 finale was scratched from the event due to a quadriceps injury Markham sustained in training. Now Grant will fight sooner then expected as he will take on Dong Hyun Kim at UFC 100. The news of the bout was reported by MMAWeekly.com.

Kim's original opponent Jonathan Goulet pulled out of their UFC 100 bout due to a dislocated shoulder he suffered in training.

Dong Hyun Kim is coming off a loss to Karo Parisyan at UFC 94 back in January, however, the loss was later changed to a "No Contest" by the NSAC after Parisyan tested positive for illegal substances. Kim holds previous UFC wins over Jason Tan at UFC 84 and Matt Brown at UFC 88. The longtime DEEP veteran, Kim, has finished fighters in 7 of his 11 career wins.

Talented Canadian prospect, TJ Grant, is currently 8-1 in his last 9 fights, with his most recent victory coming over Pride vet Ryo Chonan at UFC 97 in April. During the streak, Grant holds wins over UFC veterans Chad Reiner and Forrest Petz. KOTC and TKO veteran, Grant, is a submission specialist with 12 of his 14 career wins coming by way of submission.

The fast approaching UFC 100 card takes place on July 11 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will feature two UFC title bouts in Brock Lesnar vs Frank Mir and Georges St. Pierre vs. Thiago Alves. Also, "Ultimate Fighter" season 9 coaches Dan Henderson and Michael Bisping will fight in a very pivotal bout middleweight bout with title implications at stake.
