TUF 10 Blog Episode 8: Darrill Schoonover
by Darrill Schoonover on November 09, 2009

First off, sorry about another late blog. I was in Las Vegas for a fighter's summit.

After the fight with Scott and Matt, Matt was in a lot of pain. He was sent to the hospital and it turned out Matt had a concussion. Of course, Wes Sims, being the joker that he is, went into the closet where Matt sleeps and sprayed him with silly string while he was asleep. I personally didn't see it when it happened but - watching it on the show - it was pretty funny.

Once again, Rampage and I get into it, but, what you don't see on the show is that the night before, Rampage and his coaches were over at the house. Rampage came up to me and said he was sorry for being such an asshole and that he was doing it just to be funny. That's why the next day at practice I accepted his apology again. But then he grabbed me and I just snapped. I seriously wanted to get his head and ram it into the pole that was there.

Now, about the fight between Jones and Wessel. The fight started off good, but basically, there was just too much of a size difference. Jones got Wessel in a bear hug and brought him down and somehow put him in an arm bar to win the fight.

Watching the episode, I think Roy came off really cocky when he was asked by Dana White who he would want to fight in quarterfinals. It kind of pissed me off that he underestimated me and wanted to fight me because he believed I would be one of the weaker fighters and would inflict the least amount of damage.

As far as my two choices for who I would want to fight in the quarterfinals, I picked Marcus Jones and Matt Mitrione. I picked these two guys because I knew that if I fought Mitrione and got him to the ground, I could get an easy submission, and with Marcus, I knew if I stayed standing with him, I could get an easy knockout.

Justin Wren vs. Big Country... that is going to definitely be a fight to watch!
