TUF 10 Blog Episode 8: Darrill Schoonover
by Darrill Schoonover on November 09, 2009

First off, sorry about another late blog. I was in Las Vegas for a fighter's summit.

After the fight with Scott and Matt, Matt was in a lot of pain. He was sent to the hospital and it turned out Matt had a concussion. Of course, Wes Sims, being the joker that he is, went into the closet where Matt sleeps and sprayed him with silly string while he was asleep. I personally didn't see it when it happened but - watching it on the show - it was pretty funny.

Once again, Rampage and I get into it, but, what you don't see on the show is that the night before, Rampage and his coaches were over at the house. Rampage came up to me and said he was sorry for being such an asshole and that he was doing it just to be funny. That's why the next day at practice I accepted his apology again. But then he grabbed me and I just snapped. I seriously wanted to get his head and ram it into the pole that was there.

Now, about the fight between Jones and Wessel. The fight started off good, but basically, there was just too much of a size difference. Jones got Wessel in a bear hug and brought him down and somehow put him in an arm bar to win the fight.

Watching the episode, I think Roy came off really cocky when he was asked by Dana White who he would want to fight in quarterfinals. It kind of pissed me off that he underestimated me and wanted to fight me because he believed I would be one of the weaker fighters and would inflict the least amount of damage.

As far as my two choices for who I would want to fight in the quarterfinals, I picked Marcus Jones and Matt Mitrione. I picked these two guys because I knew that if I fought Mitrione and got him to the ground, I could get an easy submission, and with Marcus, I knew if I stayed standing with him, I could get an easy knockout.

Justin Wren vs. Big Country... that is going to definitely be a fight to watch!

Been enjoying your fights. mma3dge: this show is edited a lot differently than the past shows. i don't know if it's because i'm used to the multiple weight classes or what. it's a combo of just HW's, Kimbo and Rampage.. i think. makes for a crappy show as far as getting to know the fighters imo. JujitsWho: Yeah I know. I'd be one thing if he posted, but he doesn't mmablaster: I've enjoyed the show, and Darrill's blog. For Roy, he should have been asking Matt or James as he could take those guys down and submit them. Getting Justin Wren is rough, I see Wren as a legit prospect with grappling to neutralize some of Roys strengths. IwishIwasMMA: I would read this blog if.. 1. This TUF season stopped sucking the big one.. and no thats not Darrill's titties. 2. If there was a point to this season or at least one decent fighter. I missed last weeks episode so Marcus may be a beast... but still its a TERRIBLE HORRENDOUS DiSgUsTiNg season to watch. My eyes bleed every time I see a match with such weak effort put into it. I am just really bored by these fights. After this season... lets go get some WEC weight classes. Who wants to see some FWs, BWs, FlyWs? I would much rather watch someone bake a cake over another HW season. Internet Tufguy: I can't blame the dude. I wouldn't stand around an let Rampage humiliate me on television. Like Marcus Jones was saying, his family is gonna watch the show. I wouldn't want my kids to see me get punked on national tv. I'd be the guy that got offered a contract...................by Vince McMahon, 'cause I would smash him over the head with a chair.
