TUF 10 Blog Episode 9: Darrill Schoonover
by Darrill Schoonover on November 11, 2009

Going into the quarterfinals was intense in itself. As if that was not enough, we all had to train in the same room at the same time. Knowing everyone would fight each other on the team made everything even more intense. But it didn't bother me though, since Marcus Jones was on the other team and I still got my one-on-one with the coaches. But to be completely honest, there was not enough structure since the coaches were not really coaching. If we had to do something, we had to ask for help or do it on our own.

Going back to Matt, I knew he had gotten hit pretty hard the day of the fight, but didn't think much of it. To be honest, it seemed as if he had only gotten his head rattled a little. Until he slept in the closet, asked me for a blanket because he was extremely cold. He threw up and kept getting the chills. At that point, I knew he had gotten a concussion. Then it was only up to the doctor to let him keep fighting.

Justin Wren vs. Roy Nelson...  I knew going into the fight it was going to be a war. Justin has a lot of heart and Roy has a lot of skills. It was a stand up battle. Being in Roy's corner, I thought Roy lost the first round. But in the second round, Justin gassed and Roy took over. I, and pretty much everyone else in the house, believed there should have been a third round, but the judges gave it to Roy.

By the way, Dana White doesn't like Roy too much....
