"The Ultimate Fighter" season 11 winner Court McGee is reportedly expected to face six-fight Octagon veteran Ryan Jensen at UFC 121 on October 23 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
On season 11 of TUF reality series, McGee earned a spot in the competition by defeating Seth Baczynski in the elimination round. He was then chosen to be on former UFC light-heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell's team. However, McGee would lose to Nick Ring in the season's sixth preliminary fight. All was not lost for him though, as Rich Attonito was forced out of the competition with a broken hand and McGee was selected by UFC President Dana White to take Attonito's spot in the quarter-finals.
McGee then defeated James Hammortree and Brad Tavares to earn a spot in the live finale against Team Ortiz's Kris McCray. He scored a second round submission win over McCray to become the winner of the TUF 11 in what was his first official UFC fight. His rear-naked choke submission win earned him an extra $25,000, as he was awarded the "Submission of the Night" bonus.
The win over McCray was his fourth straight victory. Prior to the wins, he suffered his first career loss against 14-year veteran Jeremy Horn in December 2007. McGee has put together a nearly perfect 10-1 MMA record since making his pro debut in March 2007. He has finished seven of his 10 wins and holds other notable career wins over Isidro Gonzalez and current UFC welterweight DaMarques Johnson.
Jensen (15-6) has put together an even 2-2 mark in his second go-around with the UFC. He most recently notched a first round guillotine-choke submission win over Jesse Forbes at UFC 114 in May, which also earned him the "Submission of the Night" fight night bonus.
Jensen holds an overall 2-4 record with the UFC, scoring his only other Octagon win over Steve Steinbeiss, while suffering other UFC losses to Wilson Gouveia and Mark Munoz as well as losses to submission specialists Thales Leites and Demian Maia in his first stint with the UFC in 2007.
Though not officially announced yet, UFC 121 will likely be headlined by a UFC heavyweight title bout between current champion Brock Lesnar and top contender, Cain Velasquez.
