TUF 8 lightweight winner Efrain Escudero is set to take on Minnesota Martial Arts Academy's Nik Lentz at UFC Fight Night 20 in January. Both fighters have verbally agreed to the bout, according to FanHouse.com.
Though not officially announced yet, UFN 20 is tentatively set for Jan. 11 in Virginia, and the event's main card will be televised live on Spike TV.
Escudero picked up the first TKO win of his career in his last bout, scoring an impressive first-round stoppage victory over Cole Miller at UFC 103 on Sept. 19. He previously defeated Phillipe Nover to win the TUF 8 lightweight finals in Dec. 2008 at TUF 8 finale.
Prior to joining the UFC, Escudero started his career fighting mainly for Rage in the Cage. He fought seven of his first 10 career bouts with the promotion. He has put together a 12-0 MMA record since turning pro in June 2006, with 10 of his wins coming by stoppage, including nine by submission.
Lentz (17-3-1) is on a nine-fight winning streak, which includes a draw with WEC veteran Kyle Jensen, as well as wins over Dan Loman and UFC veteran Drew Fickett. He most recently defeated Rafaello Oliveira in his UFC debut in September at UFC 103. The two-time Minnesota State wrestling champion has scored stoppage victories in 12 of his 17 career wins.
