TUF 9 winner Ross Pearson to face Aaron Riley at UFC 105
by Jacob Camargo on September 01, 2009

The Ultimate Fighter season 9 lightweight winner Ross Pearson will take on tough veteran Aaron Riley at UFC 105 in November. The news comes courtesy of a report on MMAWeekly.com.

On season 9 of the durable reality series, Pearson secured a spot in the house and on Michael Bisping's team by defeating A.J. Wenn in the elimination bouts. He made his way to the lightweight finals by taking out Richie Whitson and Jason Dent.

Pearson has won his last two bouts including the Ultimate Fighter 9 lightweight tournament by defeating fellow brit Andre Winner at TUF 9 finale in June.

The Cage Warriors Fighting Championship veteran has been competing professionally for nearly five years, putting together a 9-3 MMA record, with 7 of his wins being via stoppage.

Riley (28-11-1) is coming off a win over Shane Nelson at UFC 101 last month. The bout was a do-over of their controversial showdown at UFC 96 in which Nelson won via disputed KO. Riley holds a 2-3 record with the UFC, with a key win over Jorge Gurgel at UFC 91. During his 12-year career, he has fought for notable promotions such as Pride, IFL, Bodog Fight, Shooto and HOOKnSHOOT. Riley has notable wins in his career over the likes of Michihiro Omigawa, Steve Claveau and Alexandre Barros.

UFC 105 is expected to take place on Nov. 14 in Manchester, England and will be televised on Spike TV. The UFC has yet to determine a headline bout for the event but it is expected to feature Michael Bisping taking on Denis Kang and the TUF 9 welterweight winner James Wilks facing Matt Brown.
