The Ultimate Fighter season 9 lightweight winner Ross Pearson is expected to face Dennis Siver at UFC Fight Night 21 at the end of March, according to a report from Fighter's Only.
Pearson (10-3) was originally supposed to face Matt Wiman at the event, however, Woman was forced to withdraw due to an injury.
Pearson is currently on a three fight winning streak, which includes a win in his first two UFC fights. He first defeated Andre Winner to win the TUF 9 lightweight final in June 2009 at The Ultimate Fighter 9 finale and then he bested veteran Aaron Riley at UFC 105 in November with a second-round TKO.
During his five-year career, Pearson has competed on the local U.K. circuit for notable promotions such as Goshin Ryu MMA Championships, Cage Warriors Fighting Championships and Cage Rage. He has finished eight of his 10 career wins. Also of note, Pearson will be joining his Team Rough House teammate Andre Winner on the card, who is also fighting at UFC Fight Night 21.
Siver (15-6) is also streaking, as he has won four straight fights, which include three consecutive UFC wins over Nate Mohr, Dale Hartt and most recently Paul Kelly also at November's UFC 105 event. Prior to the wins, he suffered back-to-back losses against Gray Maynard and Melvin Guillard. Silver sports a 4-3 UFC record, with his other Octagon win coming over Naoyuki Kotani. He suffered his only other UFC loss to Jess Liaudin.
The Cage Warriors Fighting Championships and World Free Fight Challenge veteran has scored stoppages in 13 of his 15 career wins and holds a big notable career wins over Jim Wallhead, who recently signed with Bellator FC.
Though not officially announced, UFC Fight Night 21 is reported to take place on March 31 at the Bojangles' Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is rumored to be headlined by a lightweight bout between Kenny Florian and Takanori Gomi. The event will serve as the lead-in on Spike TV for the debut episode of The Ultimate Fighter 11.
