The UFC cuts Loiseau, Chonan and Bielkheden
by Jacob Camargo on May 05, 2009

The UFC continues the downsizing of its roster as David Loiseau, Ryo Chonan and David Bielkheden are the latest in the recent wave of fighters being released.

Alongside Jason MacDonald and Vinny Magalhaes, Chonan, Loiseau, and Bielkheden now bring the total to five fighters cut following UFC 97 losses.

David Loiseau lost to Ed Herman via unanimous decision at the April event and now holds an 18-9 overall MMA record. Prior to the UFC 97 loss, Loiseau earned his way back into the UFC by putting together a three-fight win streak in other promotions. Loiseau exited with a 4-4 UFC record and lost his final three UFC fights.

Ryo Chonan exited the UFC on a two-fight losing streak. Losses include fights with Brad Blackburn (at UFC 92) and most recently T.J. Grant. Chonan's lone victory came over Roan Carneiro at last September's UFC 88.

David Bielkheden was 1-2 with the UFC, with his most recent loss coming to Mark Bocek. Bieklhedan lost his UFC debut against Diego Sanchez (at UFC 82) and picked up his lone UFC win over Jess Liaudin (at UFC 89).
