MAIN EVENT: Diego Sanchez vs. Clay Guida
Round one: The fighters sprint at each other and stand toe to toe throwing bombs with no defense whatsoever. Sanchez finally rocks Guida and forces Guida to cover up. Sanchez lands some more shots in the exchange and Guida shoots and scores a takedown to Sanchez' full guard. Guida lands some ground and pound but Sanchez escapes. Both fighters are bleeding as they stand and Sanchez lands a head kick that drops Guida. Sanchez pounces but Guida recovers and defends himself then gets back to his feet. Sanchez scores a takedown then Guida scrambles to his feet. The action-filled round ends in a 10-9 for Sanchez on the FiveKnuckles card.
Round two: They come out with a bit more caution in round 2 but not much, trading punches again, then Guida takes Sanchez down, landing in his guard. Guida lands some moderate ground and pound while Sanchez looks for an armbar. Guida's submission defense is effective and he scores some more. Sanchez gets good control from the bottom and stifles Guida's ground and pound momentarily. Guida lands a few shots then Sanchez unloads some nasty elbows from his back. They're flat on the mat and slugging it out, what a fight! The round ends in exactly that fashion but octagon control and the round are in favor of Guida 10-9.
Round three: The bloodied warriors begin the final round more tentatively, each knowing that he needs the round. They trade shots and circle carefully, looking for an opening. Guida attempts a take down that's averted by Sanchez at first but Guida finds the top and the ground battle continues. Sanchez looks for a kimura but Guida's defense and cardio is relentless. He frees his arm and lands some shots on Sanchez' head as the round ends. Guida again had the top control and FiveKnuckles is scoring the round accordingly, 10-9 Guida.
Final result: Sanchez...
