The UFC will soon be seeing Thiago Silva again after he recently served his one year Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) issued license suspension according to mmajunkie.com.
As NSAC executive director, Keith Kizer, points out, Silva is free to reapply for his license in Nevada as long as he appears before commission.
"He would need to appear on an agenda for licensure," Kizer said.
Silva (14-2 (1 no contest)) last fought at UFC 125 and defeated Brandon Vera via unanimous decision. However that ruling was overturned to a no contest when Silva falsified a urine sample testing for steroid use. This also led to his license suspension for 2011.
Silva would later admit to taking two separate prescription steroids on two separate occasions prior to UFC 125. Silva cited the steroid use was due to a lingering back problem and the need to support his family.
"I just want to apologize for what I did. I did what I did because my back was very, very bad a couple months before the fight. I had not fought for one year. I was completely broke. I have a family. People depend on my money. I was desperate to do something," Silva said.
Silva was also fined a total of $33,750 for steroid use at UFC 125.
