Thiago Silva now set to fight Keith Jardine at UFC 102
by Jacob Camargo on April 29, 2009

After being replaced by Anderson Silva in his UFC 101 fight against Forrest Griffin, Thiago Silva will apparently fight three weeks later against Keith Jardine at a yet unofficially announced UFC 102 fight card. MMAJunkie was first to break the news.

Keith Jardine is coming off a close decision loss to Quinton "Rampage" Jackson at UFC 96 back in March. The always-dangerous and unorthodox, Jardine, has had an up and down career with the UFC thus far, sporting a 6-4 UFC record, with big wins over Brandon Vera, Chuck Liddell, Forrest Griffin and Wilson Gouveia.

American Top Team fighter, Thiago Silva, suffered his first career loss in his last fight again Lyoto Machida at UFC 94 in January. Prior to his UFC 94 loss, the 13-1 Silva went 4-0 in the promotion, with big wins coming over James Irvin at UFC 71 , Tomasz Drwal at UFC 75 , Houston Alexander at UFC 78 and Antonio Mendes at UFC 84.

UFC 102 is tentatively set to take place on August 29 in Portland, Oregon and is expected to be headlined by an epic heavyweight battle between former UFC heavyweight champions Randy Couture and Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira.
