Thiago Silva has been suspended for one year and fined $33,750 for his post fight urine sample at UFC 125, according to MMAWeekly.com.
The urine sample that Silva submitted following his victory over Brandon Vera was determined to be "inconsistent with human urine."
The one year suspension retroactively began the night of the fight, January 1. Silva will be able to reapply for a new fighter's license on January 2, 2012 after submitting a clean urine sample to the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
The $33,750 dollar fine is comprised of 20% of his fight purse and 20% of his win bonus from the event at UFC 125.
The fight with Vera has also officially been changed to a "no contest."
