Tim Sylvia vs. Hong Man Choi likely for Dream/K-1 NYE Show
by Jason Benfari on October 21, 2009

Tim Sylvia has verbally agreed to take part in Dynamite!! 2009 MMA/K-1 hybrid show; the traditional Japanese New Year event. The news comes courtesy of an MMA Fanhouse report.

The former UFC heavyweight champion was reportedly given a choice of opponents which included current Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem, but his management indicates that they are strongly leaning toward the 7'2" 320-pound Choi.

"We're still trying to make a comeback, so I think he and Choi be the best match-up," Cox told Fanhouse. "Wow, two monsters. That would be fun."

Sylvia (25-6) recently snapped a three-fight losing steak with a victory of Jason Riley at Adrenaline MMA 4 last month. Sylvia broke his hand during the fight, but it is said to now be completely healed.

The event will also feature Sokoudjou.html'>Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou vs. Ikuhisa Minowa as Dream rounds out its Super Hulk tournament as well as a lightweight title fight between Shinya Aoki and Tasuya Kawajiri.
