The on again off again boxing match between former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia and former heavyweight boxing champion Ray Mercer is officially off. Adrenaline MMA spend months trying to get the fight sanctioned, even going as far as moving their entire event, Adrenaline MMA III, from New Jersey to Birmingham, Ala. In the end however, the organization couldn't get the fight sanctioned due to Sylvia's boxing inexperience. Therefor the fight has been changed to an MMA match up and the event will procede as all MMA card.
All fighters made weight today for tomorrow's event with Sylvia punching in at a cool 310-pounds. That's nearly 45-pounds more than his normal fight weight. Mercer tipped the scales at 256-pounds and will have to contend with a 54-pound weight disparity.
UFC veterans Rich Clementi, Jeremy Horn, and Roberto Traven round out other notables participating on the card.
