Apparently the UFC made Tito Ortiz an offer he couldn't refuse, "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" is now set to fight Rashad Evans at UFC 133 according to mmamania.com.
This new development comes after Phil Davis injured his knee and was forced to pullout of his bout with Evans. Initially Ortiz declined the bout when it was offered to him citing lack of preparation time. A subsequent offer to Lyoto Machida was also refused.
Luckily for the UFC and Evans, Ortiz is set to rematch Evans whom he fought to a draw with at UFC 73. Ortiz is fresh off of a stunning upset win over top light heavyweight prospect, Ryan Badder. Ortiz defeated Badder in the first round via guillotine choke at UFC 132.
With the fight set, Ortiz saved Evans from a long layoff since his last bout dates back to mid 2010 with a unanimous decision victory over Quinton Jackson at UFC 114.
"Only for the UFC!" Ortiz exclaimed on this twitter.
UFC 133 will be held at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 6; it is now headlined by the Ortiz vs. Evans rematch.
