Tito Ortiz will face Forrest Griffin at UFC 106 on Nov. 21. This news was confirmed by Yahoo Sports' Kevin Iole who recently received word from UFC President Dana White.
Ortiz also recently posted this comment on his Twitter feed:
"So the match has been set!!!! Forrest vs Ortiz 2 live Nov 21st Las Vegas PPV. Let the Punishment begin!!!!"
Ortiz was originally set to face Mark Coleman at UFC 106, however, Coleman was forced to withdraw due to an MCL injury. The UFC was then put in a bind, and they struggles to find a replacement for Coleman. Griffin was offered the bout and accepted.
Ortiz and Griffin fought each other at UFC 59 in April 2006 where Ortiz won a controversial split decision.
While Griffin holds a record of 7-4 in the UFC, he has lost his last two fights with the promotion. Ortiz, on the other hand, who has not fought since May 2008, has a 14-6-1 UFC record, going 0-2-1 in his last three fights. Bother fighters are former UFC light-heavyweight champions.
