Tito Ortiz is looking to hang up the gloves but not before a rematch with either Chuck Liddell or Forrest Griffin targeting July 4 weekend according to bloodyelbow.com.
"July, hopefully Fourth of July weekend I will be fighting my last fight and I will be done. That's it; it's time to walk away. You know, Forrest, or I know everybody would like to see me against Chuck (Liddell) and, I don't know. We will see what Lorenzo and Dana have to offer and see what they want to do," Ortiz said.
Ortiz's last bout was against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 140, losing via TKO from body shots. His sole win in the past five years was against Ryan Bader at UFC 132 whom he submitted with a guillotine choke in the opening round.
Despite his recent record, Ortiz still remains as the UFC's most successful light heavyweight champion with five consecutive title defenses. Who can forget his memorable three fight feud with Ken Shamrock or his rivalry with Randy Couture and Liddell?
"I'll sit down with Lorenzo and Dana next week and let's see, let's make a fight, my last fight and let's make a memorable one," Ortiz said.
Currently Griffin is not scheduled for any future bouts so a rematch with Ortiz is probable, more so than Liddell who would have to come out of retirement for the fight.
