"I know I've lost two matches. I still think I can beat him, and I still think that's a big fight. I still want that fight. That would be awesome. I think if I call him out enough times I think he'll be a man and step up. Why wouldn't he? That's a huge fight and a big payday for him. It will be good. I think we can see one more. Why not? I'm down. I'm always game. You know me, I'm not afraid to fight anyone, even though there was a picture that was painted a long time ago that wasn't true. I've fought him twice already. I'm not afraid. He already proved he's not my friend, so the hell with it. I've got nothing to lose. Lets make some money, and this time I'm going to kick his ass." - Tito Ortiz
Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz talks to MMAWeekly.com about his desire for a third match with fellow former 205-pound champ Chuck Liddell. Since re-signing with the UFC in August, Ortiz has been lobbying for another shot at his former friend and now bitter rival, Liddell.
Ortiz and Liddell previously fought two times before. Their first encounter was in April 2004 at UFC 47, where Liddell scored a second round KO win over Ortiz. The "Iceman" was also victorious in their second meeting at UFC 66 in Dec. 2006, earning a third round TKO win over the "Huntington Beach Bad Boy."
Before getting too far ahead of himself, Ortiz has to worry about Forrest Griffin, who he'll face in a rematch at UFC 106 on Nov. 21 in Las Vegas. He is coming off of major spinal fusion surgery to correct a back problem that has been bothersome to him for several years. He is winless in his last three bouts and hasn't competed since May of 2008. His last appearance in the Octagon saw him lose to current UFC light-heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida at UFC 84. Ortiz hasn't won a fight since October of 2006, when he defeated Ken Shamrock for the third time.
