Nearly seven months after signing with the UFC, ATT heavyweight Todd Duffee is finally expected to make his octagon debut against fellow UFC newcomer Mike Russow at UFC 102, according to MMAjunkie.com.
Duffee was originally scheduled to make his UFC debut against Mustapha Al Turk at UFC 99 but the UFC opted to pit Al Turk against the returning Mirko "Cro Cop". Duffee was scratched from the event altogether. "Cro Cop" remains unsigned after denying through many Croatian media outlets that he resigned with DREAM not too long after defeating Al Turk.
Duffee most recently defeated UFC veteran Assuerio Silva at Jungle Fight 11 last September. Duffee is off to a good start to his MMA career as he sports a 4-0 record, with all of his wins being stoppages.
Russow made his way to the UFC by putting together a 7-fight win streak, with his most recent coming over Braden Bice at Adrenaline MMA 2 this past December. Russow sports a near perfect MMA record of 11-1, with 10 wins by stoppage and suffered his lone loss to Sergei Kharitonov at Pride 33. He holds notable wins over Jason Guida and Roman Zentsov.
Though not officially announced, UFC 102 takes place on August 29 in Portland, Oregon. The event's headliner features a battle of MMA legends and past UFC champions, Randy Couture to fight Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
