According to the official website for the UFC Fan Expo, on July 10, the UFC will induct two new members into it's hall of fame.
The induction ceremony will follow UFC President Dana White's keynote address for the expo. All festivities will help usher in the historic UFC 100 event at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The UFC Hall of Fame currently consists of Dan Severn, Mark Coleman, Ken Shamrock, Randy Couture and Royce Gracie.
Introduced at UFC 45, the first inductees were Gracie and Shamrock. Coleman is the most recent addition when inducted back at UFC 82: “Pride of a Champion” in Columbus, Ohio.
A large amount of speculation on the next two inductees has been buzzing around the MMA world but the front-runner is likely to be Chuck Liddell, who has yet to confirm his retirement. UFC President, Dana White had said that Liddell is officially retired and he would be the promotion's next inductee.
The late and great former middleweight champ Evan Tanner, who died in September of 2008, has been a popular hall of fame mention as well. Longtime welterweight champ Matt Hughes is a strong candidate for induction but has not officially retired from the UFC. Hughes is set to fight Matt Serra at UFC 98.
Other fighters under consideration: Tito Ortiz, Frank Shamrock, David "Tank" Abbott, Pat Miletich, Don Frye, and Oleg Taktarov.
